Company Will Offer WAP Tourism Application for Mobile Phone Users

This alliance, representing the integration of Internet and wireless technology, is designed to empower mobile phone subscribers to directly and instantly search and book hotels in Italy, or search for travel mates to share car rental expenses, from a Phone.com browser-enabled mobile phone. IBOL S.r.l.’s (IBOL) wireless tourism service, Giroscopio.com, is expected to be available shortly and is accessible at http://www.giroscopio.com.

Designed to be a perfect integration between WML and ASP (Active Server Pages), Giroscopio.com will allow the user to query the databases installed on IBOL’s Windows NT server and view the results on any WAP 1.1 compatible Internet-enabled mobile phone. Users can search for hotels by city, quality and price, and may also book the hotel directly from their mobile phones.
